You had this mood about you
An attitude about you
I didn’t know quite what it was
Until you started flapping your gums
It was either this or that
I think I heard a “you are fat”
But then it all became clear
The reason you were chewing my ear
You asked, “Do you even know what I’m speaking of?”
I said, “At this point it’s all the same”
You asked, “Do you even know how to love?”
I said, “Baby, ‘love’ is my middle name”
And then your eyes got big
I thought it looked quite sick
But I just smiled at you
Oh, the way you love that I do
You couldn’t help hold back
But then I heard a smack
You didn’t find it funny
Not even when I called you honey
You asked, “Do you even know what I’m speaking of?”
I said, “At this point it’s all the same”
You asked, “Do you even know how to love?”
I said, “Baby, ‘love’ is my middle name”
Then you said try again
I thought this had no end
I knew that you weren’t lying
When I saw that you were crying
I tried to wipe your eyes
And brush away the lies
But then you fell into my chest
How did I become so blessed?
You asked, “Do you finally know what I’m speaking of?”
I said, “At this point I truly do”
You said, “Do you have anything to say about love?”
I said, “Baby, just that I love you”
