FIVE

1.

Your breasts in the bath
hang like a heart,
smooth as charcoal stones
along waterfall tongues.

2.

The sentence I am
from the words you are
could be a poem,
but could not be less.

3.

Holding on to your ash
lightly in my palm,
I plead, Holy Ghost,
take me like a gun.

4.

5.

Searching lily pads,
I found in winter’s dark
our together bones
under one life’s thumb.
