WHEN I’LL WANNA GO HOME

Sitting in this chair
High up in the air
I begin to wonder when I’ll wanna go home
When I’ll wanna get up out this chair and go

I can hear the ocean
And the waves that smack the sand
But I can’t see where water begins
And where this nighttime air began

I can hear clouds rolling
From there to this eastern coast
But I can’t see what they hold within
And whether or not I should go

I begin to wonder when I’ll wanna go home
When I’ll wanna get up out this chair and go
Sitting in this chair
High up in the air
I begin to wonder when I’ll wanna go home

The horizon, as I look upon it, is so distant
It’s defined by a thin line of something high and something low
But if I can’t tell the difference, how am I supposed to know
When to go home
‘Cause I will miss you so
I grew up looking in the reflection of your eye
You’ve shown me who I am
When and when not to cry
And how to be me in these trying times

I begin to wonder when I’ll wanna go home
When can I leave you alone and be comfortable with an empty soul
You’re not the first ocean I’ve known
And you’re not the last where I’ll learn something I’ve yet to know
