FOREVER AND EVER

The breeze felt nice as it flowed through the open pane
The moon’s shining, light’s dancing on my model train
Then I heard a pitter-patter
The noise was happening faster, faster

I turned off my tunes and hopped off my bed
You were holding a sign that boldly said,
“I am yours. Forever and ever.”
Thought it was a pretty clever gesture

Swung open my door and ran down the hall
I was skipping steps and hoping not to fall
Like Christmas morning, an eager little tyke
You’re exactly what I told Santa I’d like

Where had you gone?
I was left with myself and the lawn
I didn’t know what was coming next
A signal would have been nice, so nice

I was leaping through grass with dew on my toes
I thought, “What’s she have planned? God only knows.”
I ran by your shoes, and I melted inside
The pond’s where you were, where you’d reside

There went your top, my smile just grew
A matter of seconds was when I’d see you
Your bottoms whizzed by, and I followed your lead
That night you were the only thing that I’d need

I did a cannonball, start it off with boom
Resurfaced, inhaled, I could smell your perfume
Looking around, you were nowhere in sight
A horrible end to the most perfect night

Where had you gone?
I was left with myself and the pond
I didn’t know what was coming next
A signal would have been nice, so nice

Then under the water I felt your hand
You slid up my leg like the ocean and sand
Your hair was so wet, you were soft to the touch
With those ivy eyes, lips the color of punch

I tasted them and they were sweeter than juice
You didn’t have a problem, you like to seduce
Holding you, legs kicking to float
I felt the perfect time to steal your quote

Drew my lips near, near to your ear
“You’re my baby, sweetheart, you are a dear.
I love you, just remember, however,
that you are mine, forever and ever.”
